SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER
OEI is looking to fill a managerial position serving as a key technical resource in its Cedar Knolls, NJ office with the addition of an engineer with at least 10 years of geotechnical engineering or engineering geology experience inclusive of design and evaluation of deep, shallow and innovative foundation systems, retaining structures, slopes, ground improvement, earthquake engineering, underpinning design, landfill design and closure and other geotechnical features to support buildings, bridges, tunnels, roadways and dams.
This position requires knowledge and experience with geotechnical instrumentation including but not limited to settlement gauges, piezometers, inclinometers, strain gauges, etc. from the design of an initial monitoring system to instrument procurement, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, data management and data assessment.
The prospective candidate shall be a licensed professional engineer experienced in the development of geotechnical reports, construction plans and specifications, as well as construction administration of public and private construction projects. The candidate shall have experience in project management, client management, proposal development and business development.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience with a MS in Geotechnical Engineering, PhD a plus. This individual will provide high-end technical leadership on complex projects. Strong analytical experience is required in the areas including, soil and rock, slope stability analysis, earth retention-systems, deep foundation design, soil improvement techniques, underpinning design, seismic design and pavement design. Experience is required in leading technical projects, directing multi-functional teams and developing and mentoring junior staff. The applicant is expected to manage challenging geotechnical projects in the NY metropolitan area and overseas.
Responsibilities:
Maintain existing clients and expand service base
Develop new clients
Direct and participate in the performance of complex engineering tasks
Compile and present results of complex engineering studies and monitoring
Project Management of projects to deliver planned scope, schedule and fee
Remain on top of current theories, emerging technologies, changing regulations, market conditions and business opportunities.
Credentials/Skills/Experience:
MS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering), PhD a plus and from accredited U.S. University
PE registration in New Jersey and New York
Minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering /engineering geology experience
Excellent leadership, teamwork, management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
U.S Citizenship or Resident Alien Status
