Oweis is experienced with the issues associated with waterfront, coastal facilities, and structures such as piers, bulkheads, sheet pile walls, seawalls and flood walls. Each structure is unique to its environment, serves numerous purposes, and presents a wide variety of design challenges. With a growing need to better protect our shorelines, Oweis Engineering has much experience with waterfront redevelopment and resiliency projects. Such projects are aimed at reducing flood risk due to coastal storms and sea-level rise while leaving vistas open and enabling people to stroll freely along the waterfront. Oweis engineering works with water development teams including agencies, planners, architects, and engineers to evaluate existing structures and provide geotechnical design for new structures.
